I attended the Public Schools of Sumter County.  After high school, I received a business degree through South Georgia Technical College and Georgia Southwestern State University in 1991.  I started working for the Sumter County Head Start Center as a teacher and a shift manager at Wendy’s.   I worked both jobs for seven years before returning to college to pursue a degree in education.  I was nominated for Who’s Who among College Students in 2003.  I graduated with my BS degree in 2004 and my Master’s in 2006. I received my Specialist degree from Troy State University in 2009.  In 2005, I began my career in the Public School System at Cherokee Core Knowledge Academy. After the closing of Cherokee Elementary School in 2012, Mrs. Griffin relocated her job. She is currently a second grade teacher at Sumter County Primary School in Americus, Ga.

My goal in life is to receive my Doctorate of Education degree in Educational Leadership.  Attending college, working, and raising a family were the biggest achievements in my life.
