Graduated from Southland Academy in 1992 and then graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University in 1998 with a Bachelor in Education Degree.

I have taught @ Sarah Cobb Elementary since graduating from college. I taught 4th grade @ Sarah Cobb for 14 years before moving to 2nd grade. I now have been teaching 2nd grade for the last 2 years, first teaching Math, Science, and Social Studies and presently teaching just Science and Social Studies. All 16 years of my teaching experience has been at Sarah Cobb Elementary which I am very proud of. The 2nd grade teachers I work with are more than just my co-workers, they are also my very close friends as well as the faculty @ Sarah Cobb. The faculty is like another part of my family.

My full name is Hope Smith Deriso. I was born and raised in Americus, GA to Pete and Dot Smith. My father worked for the Georgia State Patrol and my mother was a home-maker. Presently, my father is the Sheriff of Sumter County and my mother works as a teacher's aid @ Southland Academy. I am 39 years old and have been teaching @ Sarah Cobb Elementary since graduating from college 16 years ago. I am the mother of 2 girls, Morgan who is 12 and in the 7th grade, and Macie who is 8 and in the 3rd grade. Both of my girls keep me very busy running from cheerleading practice and football games to gymnastics and gymnastic meets. When I am not @ work or being a chaufer, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, running, reading, and decorating.
